Eliza was probably previously married given her age and she stated she had 4 children with one living. In the 4 years of marriage to Benjamin in 1900 she probably had not had 4 children.

Brenda Chapman places her birth year as 1867 and place in Alabama. Census record seems to indicate 1861 and that she was born in Florida.
