James & Mehala were charter members of Hickory Springs Primitive Bapt.Church
when it was organized in 1872. He gave 10 acres for the church-site &cem. He &
his wife are buried there.

Mehala joined Youn's Meeting-house (later named Brushy Creek Church)
11/26/1842. She then joined Turner Church nearer their home on 3/27/1858.James
joined the church & was baptized.

James & Mahala settled near Little River four miles from where Ty Ty nowis in Irwin Co., GA. They reared their family and then moved to the oldJake Clements place where both died.
