Informant was Helen Bourscheidt of 3629a Arkansas. He was buried Jan. 10, 1945 at Calvary Cemetary. The funeral director was Walker-Helderle of 3634 Gravois Ave. His usual residence was 3529 Lafayette Ave. in St. Louis. Date of death was Jan. 6, 1945 at 2 p.m. (listed as 9:30 p.m. in obituary). Immediate cause of death was Hypostatic Pneumonia due to Cirrhosis of Liver, Patrick Taylor, M. D. Obituary says his two sons, Edward and Hugh, were Pfc. in the U. S. Army.

Brown, Loretta Claire (b. 17 SEP 1892, d. 29 JAN 1929)

Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. Loretta Claire McMahon, of 3626 DeTonty, 17th ward, a white married female, born Sept. 17, 1892, died at age 36 years 4 months 12 days. She was an at home house-wife, born in St. Louis. Father was Edw. Brown, born in Canada. Mother was Annie T. Cullen, born in Sherman, IL. The informant was Hugh V. McMahon, of 3626 DeTonty St. Date of death was Jan. 29, 1929 at 6:45 a.m. The doctor was John A. Rauch, of Reunion Jewish Hospital, who attended her from Jan. 27, 1929 until her death. The cause of death was acute nephritis with uraemia. Cause of acute nephritis unknown. Uraemia of 3 yrs. duration was a contributory cause. The disease was contracted at home, and there was an autopsy. She was buried at Calvary Cemetary on Jan. 31, 1929, by Paetz Bros. undertakers, of 3029 Lafayette Ave.

Information from Calvary Cemetary states that she is buried in Section 25, Lot 565, which is 264 sq. ft. The lot was purchased by her father, Edward [Edmund] Brown on 29 Jan 1929, nine days after Loretta Claire Brown's death and two days before she was buried. The cemetary lists her name as "Loretto" C. McMahon, and her age as 36. It does not list a container type for her. Also buried in the lot are her parents, Edward (Edmund) Brown and "Mary" Cullen Brown, her husband, Hugh V. McMahon, her brother, Philip Cullen Brown, and her sister-in-law, Marie M. Brown.
