Note: Wymac Fowler was a soldier in the War of 1812. He fought behind cotton bales under General Andrew Jackson at New Orleans, and walked the long distance to his home in South Carolina after his discharge.
Wymac married Mary Moseley, daughter of James "High Key" Moseley, patriot scout of the Revolutionary War, and the niece of Sergeant William Jasper, who was killed in 1779 while his regiment charged the Springhill at Savannah. Wymac was a stone mason by trade and contributed his skill with stonework in the construction of the original Union County Court House. He is buried in the family burial grounds near the banks of Mill Creek.
